Assembly Election 2023 Highlights Updates: The Election Commission of India (ECI) today announced the schedule for assembly polls in five states  Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram. The announcement entailed details of the electoral process dates including filing of nominations, polling days and result declaration for all five states. The Election Commission held a meeting on Friday of observers to develop strategy for smooth conduct of the polls. EC’s police, general and expenditure observers met to streamline strategy to ensure the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct and that money does not affect the level-playing field.

The election in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases, November 7 and November 17. The polling will be held in a single phase in Madhya Pradesh, coinciding with the second-phase voting in Chhattisgarh on November 17.

Rajasthan and Telangana will go to polls in a single phase on November 23 and November 30, respectively. Legislative elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 17. Legislative elections in Mizoram will be on November 7.
