Dr Mahesh Sharma hoisted 163 feet high flag at India Expo Mart and Centre

Hon’ble Dr Mahesh Sharma Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge), Govt. of India and Shri Rakesh Sharma, Chairman and Board of Directors, of IEML, hoisted the National flag on a 163’ high flagpole for the first time in the presence of Sh Tejpal Singh Nagar, MLA, Dadri, Smt Bimala Batham Ex-MLA Noida and Shri Vijay Bhati President District BJP. Large numbers of Tricolor balloons were also released at the same time.
It took almost six and a half minutes for the National flag weighing 18 kilograms and measuring 54’ by 36’ to be fully hoisted. Volunteers facilitated the ceremony by holding the national flag till it attained the approximate height of 50’.
This 163 feet high flag in the front compound of India Expo Mart becomes very significant in the light of all the prestigious events such as Auto Expo, Elecrama, Print Pack, Renewable Energy India and many more national and International conferences that are organised at the venue. This venue attracts international and national dignitaries in large number and this flag will add national pride to the venue. In the past the venue has had the privilege of hosting many heads of states including our own Prime Minister and President. Today also, representatives of 17 countries including Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh, Turkey, Pakistan, USA, Afghanistan attended the flag hoisting ceremony. The Guests from Philippines and Vietnam Embassy were also present during the Ceremony.
This Flag will become a symbol of Indian Pride during all the future international events that are to be held at the venue and will differentiate it from other such international venues.
This flag will also become the USP and land mark of Greater Noida city as it is not only visible from the proposed metro station and both Yaumna and Noida-Greater Noida expressway but is also surrounded by more than 20 educational institutions and will infuse a sense of pride and patriotism in one and all.
The whole area bore a festive look and was decorated with tricolour balloons and flags. The Territorial Army band and young children entertained the audience with patriotic songs. Visitors to the on-going IIMTF also took time off to participate in this historic event.
The participants from countries like Bangladesh, Srilanka, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Dubai, Bhutan, Nepal, China, Hong Kong, USA, Taiwan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philipines and citizens from eighteen states of our country which includes Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Telangana were present at this remarkable occasion hence makeing it a truly international and pan India event. Guests carried back home the message of this grand flag hoisting ceremony at India Expo Mart.
Mr Rakesh Kumar welcomed all dignitaries and citizens on this proud occasion and said that the country is progressing in every field under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our state i.e. Uttar Pradesh also has dynamic leadership of Yogi Ji, IEML has no doubt that our image and our share in international economy will grow to new heights. IEML assures that it will also contribute to the country’s progress and to Prime Minister’s initiatives may it be Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, may it be Swachta Abhiyan or any other such programme.
IEML Chairman Rakesh Kumar also spoke about various achievements of Dr. Mahesh Sharma as Noida MP as well as Tourism and Culture Minister of India.
Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma in his address said that twin cities of Greater Noida-Noida have established themselves as show-window of Uttar Pradesh. India has got a visionary Prime Minister in Narendra Modi who has today given a call for clean, green, and terrorism free India by 2022. We all have to contribute towards realizing this dream. This country, this state, this city belongs to each and every individual and we together should contribute towards its sustainable development.
India is a rapidly developing nation with strong leadership. The whole world is looking towards India. We have majority of youth population which is a very important strength of our country.
He also informed that Noida habitat centre is going to be developed in Noida which will give necessary boost to art and culture of the region.
The programme concluded with collective singing of India’s National Song Vande Matram.
