INDIA PAVILION INAUGURATED DURING HONG KONG GIFTS & PREMIUM FAIR 2019

New Delhi –   April 27 2019 – With Hong Kong emerging as an important destination for aggressive marketing through medium of trade fairs, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) has set up India Pavilion  at Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair  in which  38  Indian handicrafts are  showcasing their innovative and exquisite  gifts and premium products.  The show will be held from 27-30 April, 2019  at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Wanchai, Hong Kong informed Shri Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.

Shri Kumar further informed that the India Pavilion was inaugurated by Ms. Mrinalini Srivastava, Acting Consul General of India in Hong Kong today.  Mr. Ajith John Joshua, Consul (Commerce, Political & Media) also accompanied her and both of them interacted with the participating companies.

The fair has been recognised as the largest fair of its kind in the world and an effective platform for designers, manufacturers and wholesalers to make new business opportunities.

More than 4300 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions are participating in the fair including group pavilions from China, Italy, Korea, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand and India displaying wide range of corporate gifts, fashion accessories, green gifts, picture and photo frames, toys and sporting goods, beauty, health and wellness, watches and clocks, luxury gifts, gifts and premium etc.

The Indian exhibitors are  showcasing a wide range of products,  which include handcrafted decorated premium gifts, souvenirs, lifestyle accessories, cotton scarves, necklaces, picture frames, boxes, pen stands, note books, shawls & stoles, handmade paper products, jute, cotton, canvas bags, ladies hand bags,, leather hand bags, Christmas decoratives, wooden decorative artware, stationery, table tops, grocery bags, and decorative journals etc.

Handicrafts sector occupy an important place in the Indian economy and society with largest foreign exchange earner, employment generator for economically and socially backward classes and promoter of Indian ethnic, cultural heritage worldwide,” the Director General  of the Council added.

Shri Kumar also informed that as large number of buyers from different countries visit the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium fair,  EPCH has also arranged road show to promote forthcoming 48th edition of IHGF-Delhi Fair Autumn2019 to be held from 16 – 20 October, 2019 at India Expo Cenre& Mart, Greater Noida.
